Backflanges protrude back from the door, face towards the unit. You can determine your ideal backflange depth by taking the depth of the facing that is to be applied around the doors and subtracting your desired amount of recess from the doors to your facing. Ironhaus suggests a recess of at least 3” on arched doors.
